The 1950′s was a critical turning point in the music industry. Many of the big band sounds were being replaced by a new sound of music that was coming from electric guitars. Rock N Roll was now on the scene and had taken the world by storm. Much of the music that is mainstream today was made possible by the artists that opened the doors in the 1950′s. The quality of the recordings isn’t the high definition audio we are used to. The subject of the music wasn’t as raunchy and suggestive as today’s hits. There also wasn’t state of the art equipment with multiple tracks laid down on top of each other. In fact, many of the recordings were made with just one or two microphones.
